Performance Monitoring Checks :

As soon as you power on your computer, many processes begin running. Even before you start your first application like email, word processing or even a game, other outside processing could add to this operation. For instance, when you turn on your computer, microsoft could instantly download and begin processing updates.

When you finally call up one of your applications, this adds to the processing workload.

Storage is where programs are stored before they are called. Once called, programs begin to work in memory.

Memory is where most of all processing is happening all the time.

If too much memory is being used, processing for other programs can slow down. The processing that starts to either cause the slow down, or, processing that has been slowed down needs to be identified.

MSP Performance Monitoring is itself a process that continuously runs several tasks. From our RMM (Remote Monitoring Tool), these tasks are called Performance Monitoring Checks.

Different checks are assigned to monitor different processes.
Most checks have a threshold or something similar. In the case of checks that have thresholds, once a threshold has been exceeded, the check alerts, sometimes with an email or text. It also marks the date and time this event occurred and logs it as a history entry.
When we are alerted by one of these checks, we can begin to investigate to see what and where the problem is.
